My interest in art or, more accurately, the romantic notion of being an artist, began with a book, Goodbye Picasso. I was twenty five and intrigued, not so much by making art but by the accoutrements that surround one’s life as a Creative.  For thirty years, both in California and New York City, I earned my living in decorative arts and interior design, painting when time and space permitted. Today, I make my home in Santa Fe, New Mexico where I paint in a studio of my own, using the tools I coveted so long ago. Painting is my passion, and Picasso still inspires me, as do Basquiat, Krasner, and de Kooning, as well as other abstract expressionists working today. I create from the inside/out, free associating with my canvas using paint and mixed media instead of words — it is a visual dialogue with my Self.
